DISCLAIMER: Aiode Falls is entirely fictional. This means that it is in no way real, nor do we the players believe it to be so. We are merely creating a universe in which we can better our writing skills and have a little fun. In no way do we intend any copyright infringements; the concepts and characters ultimately belong to their respectful owners.
Upon first roleplaying in this community you are expected to have read the rules.
1. There is a limit of apping five characters per month. Other than that, there is no character cap per player overall, but it is asked that you only take on as many characters as you can handle and keep active. We're pretty chill about this but if you're having trouble we WILL ask you to reconsider your amount.
2. A player is only allowed two MAJOR characters from a fandom, depending on the fandom (Heroes, X-Men, Doctor Who etc.) Minors will be accepted on a case by case basis.
3. Activity consists of one thread/post made to either aiodeuniversity, aiodedorms, aiodeoffcampus, aiodecomms or denofsin each month. We also accept personal journal entries (of 180 words or more)and general updates in your character journals. If you cannot reach the requirement, and have not spoken to a mod about it, either by email or through request, you will be removed.
4. Inactive checks and role calls may come at any point in time, but we try for once a month. If you do not reply to these you will be removed. Additionally, if you need to take a hiatus for whatever reason, please, email it to aiodemodsrock@gmail[dot]com OR let us know via Comment Box. If you do not request with these methods it will not be counted.
5. Be true to your character. For example, Lestat is a vampire, so he wouldn't suddenly not care for blood. He's also temperamental, arrogant and self-assured, so he wouldn't be sniveling in a corner because someone hurt his feelings. It is understandable in certain situations for your character to not act like themselves, but remember to keep it believable. If the mods agree that you are not playing your character even a little bit canon; your character can be revoked and offered to others.
6. Original characters; will be accepted on a case by case basis. We accept non-canon future children of couples from the community but we ask that you speak with the players of the parent characters before applying. Your OC may belong to any fandom but any plot involving other characters in the fandom must be okay'd by those characters or must be considered a "minor" event. All rules apply to these characters and if we see fit; we may relieve you of said character at any time. Mutants/Vampires/Demons/Angels/Mermaids/One Eyed One Horned Flying Purple People Eaters; they're all acceptable.
7. Please try and use spell check on your posts. This is very helpful and IJ comes with a spellcheck, we know that typos sometimes cannot be helped, but try and check them as best as you can before submitting. If you have further difficulties, we suggest using Firefox, it has a built-in spellcheck.
8. Canon-puncturing = big no no. Basically, if you have The Joker from Batman be all "OMFG James Bond! Would you like a martini shaken not stirred?!" or Veronica Mars wouldn't run up to Rose Tyler "You're not trapped in a parallel world! Oh thank heavens! I cried like a baby at the end of series 2!!" Yeah. It's so not cool, man. You do that, and you get one warning and have to delete it. Alternatively if you've got a character like Spider-Man who has press coverage and news stories run about them, then puncturing in that sense is okay.
9. Incest and Slashing that does not have a basis in canon will not be allowed. And no, relocating to a different state/country/planet is not substantial reasoning to turn someone gay, sorry, doesn't work like that. If you've got proof, whether it be certain episodes or book excerpts, we're willing to take the time to see your reasoning.
10. PLOT -- whether it's crack or in-depth. There must be logical reason. For example; (Doctor Who) the Master & Rani stealing the Doctor's & Rose Tyler's halfbreed baby. Completely logical and canon. (Super Mario Brothers) Luigi & Mario opening up a strip club with under-age dancers while smuggling in exotic animals from overseas.. Completely wrong and just, no. Denied. You NEED a reason. Preferably a good one other than "because."
11. Please remember that the mods are here to play as well. Be courteous and polite to everyone. We are not here to rule with iron fists. We are here to enjoy the game as much as the members. Failure to adhere to this rule, will result in immediate removal from the game, we will not tolerate any type of elitist attitude.
12. Keep OOC stuff OOC. DO NOT bring OOC issues IC. Also, privacy is key here. Unless it's offered, do not ask other members for personal information, and do not distribute other's information. Any complaints are to be put in the comment box.
13. Your application must include two disclaimers. A community/Aiode Falls one (you may copy the one at the top of this page) and a played-by/character disclaimer. You can copy and paste this: "This is a rpg. I am not (your character here), nor am I (the actor that plays them). I am simply borrowing the character and the face for the purposes of non-profit entertainment. I own nothing."

Who were the original mods? The original mods were Amber, Jess, Jewels, Kaela and Rae.
What kind of plots are run, are there any you won't do? We like group driven plots, things that will affect as much of Aiode's population as possible. That way, characters can get involved easily. We started with a classic zombie plot, then moved on to a more sophisticated Dalek invasion, in January 09 we had a virus that caused those with powers or abilities to lose control, and in April we had Jesus visit with some party favors plagues! Plot-wise; we're pretty open to most suggestions so long as it's got potential to be game wide. However, we absolutely will not do the "de-aged" plot.
When/where is this all taking place? Present day, EST time. Aiode Falls, Maine, United States, Earth aka Sol III, ZZ9 Plural Z Alpha, Mutter's Spiral aka Milky Way. Current Universe.
Is Aiode Falls a real place? -- and how do you pronounce it? No. And it's pronounced "A-ode - falls."
If a character dies in Aiode, are they gone for good? Yes, and no. If you feel the need to have your character kick the bucket? There are two choices, that you hopefully have made up before killing them off. Due to the wide variety of characters, there a certainly a number with abilities who could bring others back from the dead. They'd simply be, alive-again, with consequences that are based on the resurrection method. However if you choose to leave them dead as a doornail, then yes, they will remain so and be added to our ban list. We ask that you please run it by us if you are planning to do the latter.
Are we allowed to bring in other versions of characters already played? No, only one version of a character is allowed in-game at any given time. NPC babies/toddlers do not count as existing versions.
Can I use a PB for a character if it's already in use? Certainly! We don't see the need to cap PBs so long as they don't get out of control and into double-digits. Besides, mistaken identity threads are fun!
If I pick up a character that another player dropped, do I have to keep their storylines? Yes, you do -- or at least as much as is humanly possible. If there's a part of the previous storyline you truly can't handle, please, come to the mods and we'll do what we can to help you. Also, if said part involves another player's character, talk to them first before coming to us -- we'll gladly help, but we'd like to see you try and work it out yourselves first.
There are a lot of OCs listed as part of two fandoms, what does that mean? Those are the future children of couples currently at Aiode. Since some parents are from two different fandoms, both are listed.
Can children of future children be brought in? Yes. However that is as far as we are allowing things to branch out. There are plenty of fandom characters available to be played that should fit your liking. And children of the children of future children, is slightly ridiculous.
I've got a few questions about an ad I saw in aiodelines, how should I go about getting answers? Reply to the post! It's that simple. We assure you that all posts in that comm are up to date, and that those characters are still available and very much wanted.
I need help with my application, not the whole thing, just filling a few things out. How can I get help? If you need assistance with completing the application, email us, we're more than happy to work with you on it and will not let that affect our decision.
